Storm shuts down Highway 17 between Heyden and Wawa

A snow squall warning is in effect

Poor weather conditions have forced the closure on Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie.

All lanes are shut down in both directions between Highway 556 in Heyden and Highway 101 in Wawa.

A snow squall warning is in effect for the Sault with reduced visibility due to heavy and blowing snow.

"Travel is expected to be significantly impacted,” Environment Canada has said.
