Take Your Pick? Rotaryfest draw winner chooses the cash

For Leah Malkki, a trio of tickets did the trick.

Malkki bought three tickets for the annual Rotaryfest Take Your Pick draw and it was the third she purchased that was the big winner.

This year’s draw was record-setting: the cash prize — $100,000 — was six figures for the first time ever. The other prize options, valued at approximately $112,000 each, were just as enticing: a fully electric 2023 Ford F150 Lightning, along with $5,000 cash; or a 2023 GMC Canyon and a brand new SeaDoo Switch.

Malkki chose the cash. She says she plans to do some investing with her newfound money.

There were also three bonus draws this year for Soo Mill Buildall gift cards. The winners are:

• $4,000 Gift Card - Terri Perlini, Ticket #11098
• $10,000 Gift Card - Lisa Guise, Ticket #23311

The draw took place over the weekend and it was a record-setting fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie.

In total, 21,810 tickets were sold, which surpassed the previous high by more than 2,000 tickets.
