Do you have an extra room or house you wish to rent? Are you thinking about renting space to post-secondary students and want more information?

Sault College and Algoma University are joining together on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. in Sault College’s M1030 to provide guidance on renting to students including: what our students are looking for when renting a room/apartment, tips for renting to students, basic legal responsibilities of landlords and tenants provided by Pascuzzi and Berlingieri Law Firm LLP, as well as an opportunity to ask questions.

With healthy numbers of both international and domestic students from both post-secondary institutions, renting a room, home or apartment provides an opportunity for current and potential landlords to support our students and institutions as well as our local economy.

“We welcome all area landlords or those considering becoming a landlord to attend our information session,” said Matt Trainor, director, Student Services, Sault College.

“Through this session, we will be providing valuable information and education specific to renting to our students. Together we are giving landlords the information they need to move forward in the renting process, provide them with an opportunity to ask questions, and give further information on how to connect with our students who are searching for off campus housing.”

“As we prepare to welcome an ever growing number of domestic and international students to our community we look forward to working with our partners from Sault College to facilitate discussions with local landlords that will help ensure a smooth transition and welcoming environment for all,” notes Dave Trudelle, director of student experience at Algoma University.

Parking is free anywhere on campus. We hope to see you there!
