NEWS RELEASE

SHOT IN THE DARK

*************************
A story of two “star-crossed lovers” in a world at war with itself, Shot in the Dark’s winter production, West Side Story, opens this Wednesday, February 24.

Directed by Sue Barber and Anthony Aceti, “West Side Story” is a classic musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”.

It’s the story of two teenagers, Tony and Maria, who hail from opposite sides of town, and have to battle the biases of their friends and family in order to try to be together.

The show takes place at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre – an interesting and unconventional venue for theatre. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and “curtain” is at 8 p.m.

Tickets are still available for all four performances – general admission is $25 for adults and $20 for students, seniors, or groups of 10 or more.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, at the Community Theatre Box Office in the Station Mall, or online at shotinthedarkssm.com.

Wednesday night’s performance will also play host to a gala in support of Welcome Friend Association’s Rainbow Camp.

A special $50 gala ticket gets you appetizers by Rosetta Sicoly of the Iron Club, a drink ticket, admission to the Wednesday performance and a tax receipt for a donation to Welcome Friend Association.
