Local bike shop Velorution will be holding a sale for a good recreational cause during its regular 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours Saturday.

The shop will hold a kids used bike sale from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“We have ‘buy back’ kids bikes that were traded back to us. They’re in used condition. The bikes are going to be sold as is and all the proceeds from the kids used bike sale will go to local trail development and for mountain bike trails in the Sault,” said Joel Wenham, Velorution manager.

“We have a good amount of used bikes that we’re looking to sell, about 40 or 50 bikes at the moment,” Wenham said.

“We want to get more trails in the Sault and more kids on bikes.”

“In years past we’ve donated a few bikes to different charities but this year we had an excess amount of kids bikes so we’ve decided to use one day for a good sale,” Wenham said.

Wenham said he, like all Velorution staff, is naturally enthused about the Finn Hill Bike Trail project and improvements to the John Rowswell Hub Trail.
