Wawa resident charged twice in weekend domestic incidents

A Wawa resident is facing multiple failure to comply charges following two domestic incidents in a 30-hour span over the weekend.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Aug. 11, officers with the Superior East detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a domestic dispute on Ontario Street in Wawa.

An investigation led to the arrest of a 63-year-old from Wawa who was ultimately charged with failure to comply with and undertaking (two counts).

The accused was released from custody with a court date set for September.

Just after 2 a.m. on Aug. 13, police received a report that the accused had returned to the Ontario Street residence. 

As a result, the accused was again charged with failure to comply with an undertaking (four counts).

The accused was again released from custody with a court date scheduled for September.

Due to the domestic nature of the incidents, the OPP is not releasing the suspect's name in order to protect the idenity of the victim.
