Wet weather couldn't spoil the fun (17 photos)

People lined up in the rain for ribs, children enjoyed wide range of activities; Friday will include car show for first time in years

Saultites wait a long time for summer to arrive, so rain didn't dampen spirits during the opening evening of Rotaryfest activities in Clergue and Rowswell Parks Thursday.

Children enjoyed an expanded range of activities on inflatables as well as pony rides, face painting and other activities, while all ages enjoyed tasty ribs, chicken and live music.

The fun continues Friday and Saturday, along with the annual Rotary Community Day Parade Saturday.

For a complete list of events and schedule, including the return of the Wheels on the Water Car Show from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Civic Centre's south parking lot Friday, check out the Rotaryfest website
