A heavy snow snowfall winter weather travel advisory has been issued for Thursday.

Weather advisory issued for:
   Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay, Ont.
   Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island, Ont. 
   Agawa - Lake Superior Park, Ont.

Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect for Thursday.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing:
Early Thursday morning to Thursday evening.

Discussion:
Snow, at times heavy, will begin Thursday morning and persist through the day. Lake effect flurries are expected to develop behind the system on Thursday evening and taper off near midnight. Northwest winds will increase near noon on Thursday with gusts up to 60 km/h leading to localized blowing snow Thursday afternoon and evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
