The good news is that the start of September and this coming long week look to arrive with sunshine and daytime highs in the low to mid-20s

August ends this week after a month of average temperatures over a degree warmer than normal and with half as much rain as we typically see this month. The cooling off will only last a day, whereas the risk of wet weather lasts for a few days later this week. The good news is that the start of September and this coming long week look to arrive with sunshine and daytime highs in the low to mid-20s.

Monday will be partly cloudy, with afternoon temperatures near 30°C and humidex values near 36.

Tuesday, a few more clouds and scattered storms move into the region during the afternoon and evening, with daytime highs of 27°C. We should see some breaks in the clouds on Wednesday, but the risk of an isolated shower continues during the day as temperatures fall to 20°C.

Mostly cloudy skies and the risk of scattered showers and storms continue for Thursday and the start of Friday, with daytime highs in the low 20s.  Skies should clear late Friday for the beginning of the upcoming long weekend.
