Young archer splits own bull's-eye with rare 'Robin Hood shot'

Angus Macwilliam, 16, accomplished feat in tournament at Algoma Rod and Gun Club

A young archer from Goulais River has pulled off a rare feat in which he split an arrow that was already lodged right in the middle of the target.

Angus Macwilliam, 16, made what is known as a "Robin Hood shot" at an archery tournament at the Algoma Rod and Gun Club.

The first shot was his own bull's-eye, and he split that arrow right down the middle with another bull's-eye shot.

The teen has only been taking part in archery for about a year, his family said.

According to archershub.com, "This shot requires great skill and hence has taken on the name of this heroic outlaw."

The tournament took place Jan. 22.
