If the Elks 341 Black Sox want to win their own tournament, they're going to have to win three baseball games on Sunday to do so.

Following a 14-4 victory over Sudbury on Sunday night, the Black Sox will have to defeat Sudbury again on Sunday morning if they want a semi-final berth. After a change in tournament format led to just three games being played on Saturday, the fourth and fifth seeded teams in the tournament, in this case, the Black Sox and Sudbury, will compete in a qualifying game on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. The winner will face Mancelona in once of two semi-final games later Sunday morning.

"We're confident for tomorrow said Black Sox coach Steve Hurley. "They're sky high right now (after the win). They've got smiles on their faces. They want to play again right now. We're ready for tomorrow."

The game was a stark contrast from their performance on Friday in which they suffered a 10-3 loss at the hands of Rogers City.

"We hit the ball better, we communicated better and we played defense," said Hurley. "We actually played as a team today. We came together as a team and when we do, we're unbeatable."

The other semi-final game will feature Rogers City and Soo, Michigan. The game will be going on at the same time as the semi-final between Mancelona and the Sudbury/Sault Ste. Marie winner.

The Black Sox powered their way to the win on Saturday thanks to a seven-run opening inning. Corey Jackson knocked in a pair of runs in the win. Brendon Hansen had three hits in the win, stroking a pair of singles and a double while Scott Thornton reached base four times after a pair of singles and a pair of walks. Ben Elliott also reached base twice.
