CASS returns to action

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls volleyball teams hosted Espanola, Elliot Lake, W.C. Eaket and Franco Ouest in North Shore volleyball on Wednesday. The senior girls improved to 8-0 with wins over Espanola 25-16, 26-24, W.C.

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls volleyball teams hosted Espanola, Elliot Lake, W.C. Eaket and Franco Ouest in North Shore volleyball on Wednesday.

The senior girls improved to 8-0 with wins over Espanola 25-16, 26-24, W.C. Eaket 25-20, 25-22 and Elliot Lake 25-21, 25-27, 15-10. CASS will now host the North Shore championship Feb. 13.

The junior girls finished the season with an 8-4 record with wins over W.C. Eaket 25-14, 25-7, Franco Ouest 25-19, 25-18, before losing to Elliot Lake 23-25, 19-25 and Espanola 21-25, 17-25.

*** BOYS BASKETBALL:

The Central Algoma Secondary School boys basketball teams hosted W.C. Eaket on Tuesday.

The senior boys improved to 5 wins and 0 losses with a 57-35 victory. The score was 35-20 at the half for CASS. Corey Myers had 25 points for CASS to lead all scorers. Robert Bissaillion had 9 points for the Royals.

The junior boys improved to 4 wins and 1 loss with a 62-52 win over the Royals. CASS lead 31-21 at the half. Ethan Campbell with 20 points and Seth Whitley with 15 led the Huskies while Devon Fortino had 21 for the Royals.

CASS hosts Manitoulin on Thursday. Juniors 11am, Senior 1:30 and Midget at 2 PM.
