CASS seniors remain undefeated

The CASS girls basketball teams hosted the Elliot Lake Atoms in a battle of the undefeated in the senior division.

The Seniors behind Amanda Hollingsworth’s 21 points and a stingy defence defeated Elliot lake 37-33 to remain undefeated (4-0).

CASS led 22-18 at the half. Kara Lynn Kluke had 10 points for Elliot Lake.

The CASS Juniors improved to 3 wins and 1 loss with a 36-25 win over the Atoms. Deanna Hagan had 15 points while Hayley Oikari chipped in with 10. Jolyne Hussey had 8 points for Elliot Lake.

*** THURSDAY:

The basketball teams hosted the Manitoulin Mustangs on Thursday.

The Seniors defeated Manitoulin 36-13 to remain undefeated (3-0). Amanda Hollingsworth with 14 points and Blair McClelland with 6 led the Huskies while Chantelle Taylor had 9 points for Manitoulin.

The CASS Juniors improved to 2 wins and 1 loss with a 33-15 win over the Mustangs. Marabeth Mills had 14 points while Deanna Hagan and Hayley Oikari chipped in with 8 points each. Kristen Gommie had 5 points for Manitoulin.

*** BOYS VOLLEYBALL:

The CASS boys volleyball team travelled to Elliot Lake to open their season with matches against Elliot Lake S.S., W. C. Eaket S.S. and Manitoulin S.S.

The seniors finished with 2 wins and 1 loss on the day defeating W.C.Eaket 2-0 , Elliot Lake 2-1 and losing to Manitoulin 0-2.

The juniors started off defending their North Shore title win 3 straight wins. Defeating W.C.Eaket 2-0, Elliot Lake 2-1 and Manitoulin 2-1.
