The Korah Colts will face the St. Mary's Knights in the city high school hockey final

The teams are set for the city high school hockey final.

The Korah Colts blanked the Superior Heights Steelhawks 5-0 on Monday at the John Rhodes Community Centre to win the best-of-three series between the two schools.

Superior Heights forced Monday’s game thanks to a 2-1 win in game two.

In game three, the Colts broke open what was a tight game through one period with three goals in a span of just over three minutes early in the second period en route to the win.

With Korah up 1-0 after a goal in the opening period by Kyle Birch, Isaac Bennett scored a pair of goals 2:06 apart to give Korah a 3-0 lead and Nathan Keranen extended the lead 57 seconds later.

Kaden Dundas capped off the scoring with an empty net goal in the final minute of the third period.

Birch and Dundas had a goal and an assist each for the Colts.

Tyson Culina assisted on a pair of Korah goals while goaltender Sean Zago picked up the shutout.

The city final between the Colts and Knights is slated to begin on Wednesday in a 3 p.m. start at the John Rhodes. The league award winners will be honoured prior to the game.
