Dolphins make a splash in Elliot Lake

The Soo Y Dolphins made a splash at the second Northeastern Ontario Regional Development Meet held over the weekend at the Elliot Lake Municipal Pool.

The Soo Y Dolphins made a splash at the second Northeastern Ontario Regional Development Meet held over the weekend at the Elliot Lake Municipal Pool.

The local club sent 21 swimmers to the meet and all 21 returned home with at least a top three finish.

Brent Caverly and Sarah Ingram led the Dolphins with six first place finishes each while Brandon Corelli, Taylor Corelli, Peter Greve, Bridget Murphy and Thomas Rose, who also grabbed a second place finish, each won five races.

Vanessa Chaimbrone collected four first place finishes and two seconds, Celine Valiquette grabbed four firsts and one second while Jesse Wetzel and Matthew Seto each claimed four firsts and a third.

David Pister won two races and finished second in three others and Lauren Stitt took two firsts, a second and a third. Holly Williamson claimed a first, two seconds and a third, Anastasia Greve took a first, second and a third place finish while Mikaela Scornaiechi claimed a first and three thirds.

Riley Grant finished second three times, Hailie Grant won two seconds and three thirds, Nicole Foster took a second and a third, Carly Wetzl swam to a second place result and Erin Murphy grabbed two third place finishes.
