Using their perennially strong rushing attack, the Eagles ran for 318 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-6 win over the Wolverines in high school football senior division action at Rocky DiPietro Field.

The Wolverines played the Eagles tough until the second half when the game became one sided.

Kofi Osei, who rushed for 191 yards on 15 carries, opened the scoring with a 21 yard touchdown run.

White Pines struck late in the first half when Ryan Ford hauled in a 37 yard pass from quarterback Justin Wensley. A missed two point conversion kept the Eagles ahead 7-6 at the break.

The Eagles took over in the second half as fullback Anthony Orazietti scored two consecutive rushing touchdowns from three and two yards out before running back Nigel Milne rushed in from nine yards.

Chad Infanti capped the scoring with a 32 yard touchdown reception from the arm of Frank Weise. D.J. Idehen caught a two-point conversion while Weise kicked four converts.

Peter McGonegal added 51 yards rushing on four carries for the Eagles while Milne added 49 yards on six attempts. Defensively, D.J. Idehen recorded 4.5 tackles, an interception and two batted balls. Matt Irving also made an interception and added 3.5 tackles.

Alonzo Clarke led the Wolverines offensive attack with 86 yards rushing on 12 carries. Wensley completed five of 19 passes for 83 yards including a pair to Ford for 49 yards.

Defensively for the Wolverines, Matt Ritchie led the team with seven tackles while Jake Doan and Adam Stevenson added four each. Darcy Rumble recorded three tackles and an interception.

*** JUNIOR DIVISION:

In junior division action on Saturday, the Sir James Dunn Eagles blanked the Wolverines 12-0. Spencer Milne scored a rushing touchdown while Jason Piper hauled in a Tyler Brown touchdown pass for the winners.

On Friday, the Korah Colts used two touchdowns from Kyle Leonard and one from Ben Ginter to beat the St. Basil Saints 21-10. Andrew Naphan scored the lone major for the Saints.

In the season opener on Thursday, the St. Mary's Knights rolled past the Bawating Braves 42-0. Michael Esson led the Knights with four touchdowns while Marc Hurtubise scored twice.
