Sault Steelers running back Josh Gauthier was honoured by the Northern Football Conference this week.
The speedster picked up the special teams player of the week award for his dazzling 94 yard kickoff return in their dramatic loss to the Oshawa Hawkeyes on Saturday.
After three weeks, Gauthier leads the NFC in scoring with seven touchdowns for 42 points and leads in rushing with 294 yards.
The Steelers are back in action on Saturday at Rocky DiPietro Field against Milton at 7 p.m.
The contest is the second in a local doubleheader as the Sault Sabercats host the Sudbury Northerners in an Ontario Varsity Football League game at 1 p.m. at DiPetro Field.
