The final two season champions at Laird International Raceway were crowned as rain shortened the season finale on Sunday afternoon.

LIR managed to get six races completed before the sky opened up for a second time forcing track officials to call the program, as the factory stocks were only a few laps into their feature race.

With Robert Hiiemaa and Jason Praysner already claiming titles in the late model division and factory stock division, respectively, on Thursday night, the pure stock and stock four division championships were up for grabs on Sunday. Both divisions managed to get a heat and a feature race into the books.

In the pure stock division, Joe Addison made his best attempt to claim the title as an outside shot by winning the heat race and finishing second to Brimley, Michigan's Bob Laphew in the feature.

In the end, Ray Golladay held on to the lead and secured his second consecutive LIR track championship. Golladay also won the pure stock championship at the Kinross Speedway last week.

The stock four championship came down to a single point as Paul Beauchamp claimed the title over Dan Dinsmore, who made the points race so close with a feature win on Sunday. Finishing two points behind in third place was Jeremy Van Hoek, who finished second in the feature. Scott Syrette won the heat race.

George Wilson won the fast car dash in the only late model race of the day while Mike Murphy won the factory stock division heat race.

Results and point standings will be posted at www.lairdraceway.com once they become official.

Racing will continue in May.
