Greyhounds hit by a late third period Storm

The Soo Greyhounds saw another game slip away in difficult fashion on Friday night. In Guelph, the Storm broke a 4-4 tie with two goals late in the third period to score a 6-4 win over the Hounds.

The Soo Greyhounds saw another game slip away in difficult fashion on Friday night.

In Guelph, the Storm broke a 4-4 tie with two goals late in the third period to score a 6-4 win over the Hounds.

The Greyhounds play their final game before the holiday break on Sunday in Kitchener at 6 p.m.

Trailing 4-2 heading into the third period, the Greyhounds roared back to tie the game as Jason Pitton scored his third goal of the night and Brandon MacLean added another shorthanded.

But with 2:35 remaining, Mike McLean scored the game winner for the Guelph Storm while Ryan Callahan sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 14 seconds remaing.

Sault product Kelsey Wilson scored two goals,including his 20th of the year, for the Storm while another local in Matt D'Agostini scored once and added an assist. Callahan also finished with two goals on the night.

Kyle Gajewski took the loss in goal for the Hounds after stopping 34 of 39 shots. Jason Guy stopped 21 of 25 shots for the win.
