Greyhounds leave Sarnia stinging

The Sarnia Sting stopped the Soo Greyhounds mini two-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory on Friday night in Sarnia. The Hounds are now 1-1 on a three-game road trip that concludes Sunday afternoon in Guelph against the Storm at 3 p.m.

The Sarnia Sting stopped the Soo Greyhounds mini two-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory on Friday night in Sarnia.

The Hounds are now 1-1 on a three-game road trip that concludes Sunday afternoon in Guelph against the Storm at 3 p.m.

Sarnia stung the Greyhounds in the third period with two goals 1:24 apart to increase what was a 2-1 lead.

The Sting's Justin DiBenedetto and Hounds captain Cody Thornton traded first period power play goals before Trevor Kell scored 50 seconds into the second period to give Sarnia the lead for good.

Tomas Pospisil and Kell scored in the third period while DiBenedetto and Harrison Reed added two assists each.

Kyle Gajewski made the start in goal for the Greyhounds, who went 1-for-9 on the power play, and faced 34 Sting shots while Parker VanBuskirk faced 25 shots for Sarnia in the win.
