It has become an increasingly popular event at the Kinross Speedpark over the last couple years.

‘Halloween at the 1/4 Mile’ combines the exciting side-by-side stock car racing, with a unique opportunity for the track’s youngest fans, all into one.

This Saturday night July 27, Rudyard Auto Sales/Auto Value presents the full evening of stock car racing featuring modifieds, ABC stock cars and four cylinders.

Time trials are set for 4 p.m., with racing action to begin at 6 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, July 28 with time trials at 1 p.m., racing at 3 p.m.)

Following the races, the youngest race fans are invited pit side to see the cars, and meet the stars of the facility, while ’trick-or-treating’ throughout the pits.

Main grandstand admission is $10 USD / $12 CDN for adults, $7 USD / $9 CDN for seniors (60+) and students (12-17) while Kids 11 and under are free.

The 50/50 draw of the night will support the Diane Peppler Resource Center.

For the second straight season, the Modified Division point standings are shaping up for an unprecedented finish.

Heading into Saturday night, just three points separate four competitors for the top spot.

2017 division champion, Dustin Jackson (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) and Pickford, Mich. pilot John Clawson are tied with 206 points apiece.

One point back is Alanson, Mich. native Steve Saddison while 2015 and 2016 division champion Tim Aho (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) sits with 203 points in 4th.

Keenan Spurway (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) has a mere five-point advantage over John Carter (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) in the ABC Stock Car A-Division while Dennis Aho (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) rounds out the top three.

With an eight point lead, Todd Nyberg (Pickford, Mich.) paces the ABC Stock Car B-Division over Goulais River, Ont. driver Buddy Palahnuk.
