The Horizon Capital Curling Classic is getting underway today at the Soo Curlers Association. The women's cashspiel will bring together 24 of the world's top teams together to shoot for $36,000 in total prize money.

The Horizon Capital Curling Classic is getting underway today at the Soo Curlers Association.

The women's cashspiel will bring together 24 of the world's top teams together to shoot for $36,000 in total prize money.

Joining local rinks skipped by Elaine Uhryn and Nancy Houle include Sherry Middaugh, Marilyn Bodogh, Anne Merklinger, Olympic silver medalist Dordi Nordby from Norway, 2003 World Champion Debbie McCormick, Manitoba champion Jennifer Jones, American Patti Lank, money leader Cheryl Bernard, former Sooite and now Thunder Bay's Tara George (Coulterman) and Switzerland's Luzia Ebnorther.

The first draw begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the second draw at 1 p.m. Draw three goes at 4:30 p.m. and the fourth and day's final draw at 8 p.m.

Tickets for this event are on sale with a full event pass running at $30.00, Daily passes are $10.00. Tickets can be purchased at the Soo Curlers Club on Anita Blvd.
