TORRIE RECEIVES 2-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION
Monday, September 12th, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Soo Greyhounds are pleased to announce that General Manager Dave Torrie has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the organization.
Torrie is currently entering the final year of his original three-year deal and now will see himself under contract with the Greyhounds until May of 2008.
Team President Dr. Lou Lukenda pointed to the direction the club is heading on-and-off the ice as the driving force behind this latest deal.
"We are very pleased with the direction the Soo Greyhounds are heading and certainly Dave Torrie deserves a good deal of credit for the changes that have occurred during his tenure," stated Dr. Lukenda. He added, "We are looking forward to what the future will bring for our hockey club and we're glad to have Dave onboard."
"I'm very pleased to continue my relationship with the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club. The commitment that our ownership brings to this city and our players is phenomenal," replied Torrie. "I feel very good about working with our coaching staff, especially Craig Hartsburg, in our quest to bring an OHL championship back to the fans of Sault Ste. Marie."
As per club policy, financial details of this agreement were not disclosed.
