The Soo Greyhounds are headed down the Ontario Hockey League stretch run with a season-long winning streak after defeating the Sudbury Wolves in Sudbury on Friday night.

Tyler Cucthbert scored 4:21 into the third period on a set up from Davd Kuchejda and Dustin Jeffrey to lift the Hounds to a 1-0 victory. Greyhound goaltender Kyle Gajewski was unbeatable on the night by kicking aside 21 shots and collecting first star honours.

The victory is the team's fourth in a row and moves the team to within three wins of the .500 mark with five regular season games remaining.

The Greyhounds were dealt a blow in the second period though as captain Tyler Kennedy was assessed a match penalty and ejected from the game for kicking.

The locals now find themselves nine points ahead of the Erie Otters for the final playoff berth in the western conference, three points behind the Windsor Spitfires, who have lost three games in a row, for seventh spot and six points behind the division leading Plymouth Whalers and Saginaw Spirit.

The Hounds now return home for a date with Plymouth on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
