The Soo Greyhounds continued where they left off.

After completing a solid three-game homestand with a trio of victories, the Greyhounds skated into Saginaw and knocked off the Spirit 6-3 on Wednesday night.

The Hounds were playing a Saginaw team that shook up their lineup earlier in the day by sending Sault product Zack Torquato packing to the Erie Otters.

Even with the loss, the Spirit lead the west division and sit just a point behind the London Knights for top spot in the Ontario Hockey League.

After David Kuchejda scored the first goal of the game for the Greyhounds, the Spirit rebounded and grabbed a 3-1 lead in the second period. But the Greyhounds would close the contest with five unanswered goals to extend their winning streak to four games.

In the second period, Jiri Tlusty started the Hounds comeback before Michael Quesnele scored on the power play 1:15 later. Less than two minutes after, Tlusty notched his second of the game on the power play to give the Hounds a 4-3 lead after 40 minutes.

The Hounds would close the third period by holding the Spirit to seven shots on goal. Josh Godfrey on the power play and Kuchejda's second of the night into an empty net capped the scoring.

Ryan Berard, Nigel Williams and Matt Corrente scored for Saginaw.

Kyle Gajewski kicked aside 18 of 21 shots in the win while the Hounds peppered Saginaw with 34 shots. Dustin Jeffrey picked up four assists, Quesnele two and Godfrey another.

The Greyhounds return home for two games this weekend at the Steelback Centre. The Owen Sound Attack visits Friday and the Ottawa 67's on Saturday. Game time is 7:30 p.m. both nights.
