SOO INDIANS

*************************

Second-place Soo Indians home for two Soo Indians will be looking to improve on their 6-3 record when they are home for a pair of games this weekend, Friday and Saturday nights at Big Bear Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. both nights. Abitibi and Manitoulin will supply the opposition for the Indians, who are tied for second place in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with North Bay. Both North Bay and the Soo have 12 points, three points back of first-place Sudbury, whom the Indians have two games in hand on. Veteran skater Sean Farley and rookie forward Paul Isleib lead the Indians in scoring with 11 points apiece. Farley leads the team in goals with eight, followed by Nick Zilka, who has four. Zilka was acquired in a trade with the Blind River Beavers before the start of the season and has been paying dividends for Indians' coach/general manager Jim Capy. Elliot Hogue of the Indians is the NOJHL's top-rated goalie with a 2.29 goals-against-average to go with a .939 save percentage and 4-2 won/loss record.
