Junior Cougars win bronze in Cambridge

The Junior Cougars Major Bantam Girls Basketball team won the bronze medal at the Cambridge Centaurs Tournament last weekend in Cambridge.

The Junior Cougars Major Bantam Girls Basketball team won the bronze medal at the Cambridge Centaurs Tournament last weekend in Cambridge.

In the Bronze medal game, the Cougars defeated the Kitchener/Waterloo Lightning 41-25 on the strength of 21 points from Samantha Hunt. Breanna Denneny added six points.

The Cougars opened the tournament with a 28-26 loss to Ancaster. Melanie Thorburn dropped eight points for the locals and Denneny six.

In the second game, Thorburn had 10 points and Hunt six to lead the Cougars past the Hamilton Wildcats 41-22.
