Junior Greyhounds return from busy weekend on road

The team picked up a pair of wins and an overtime loss in four weekend games

A busy weekend saw the Soo Jr. Greyhounds play four games in three days.

The trip included a meeting with the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves on Friday and three games against the North Bay Trappers minor midget team, two on Saturday and another on Sunday.

On Friday night, the Jr. Greyhounds surrendered three goals in the third period in a 3-1 loss to Sudbury.

Devin Mauro scored midway through the opening period for the Jr. Greyhounds.

Rowam Mullin Santone had a pair of goals for Sudbury while Pierson Sobush also scored.

The Jr. Greyhounds opened action with the Trappers on Saturday morning with an 8-5.

Dylan Szabo scored four times for the Jr. Greyhounds while Gavin Ritacco had two goals.

Ethan Esposito and Adam Barone also scored.

Dylan Forsyth assisted on four goals for the Jr. Greyhounds.

Anden Ringuette scored a pair of goals for the Trappers while Chase Thompson and Jake Fullerton had a goal and an assist each.

Dallas Landriault had the other North Bay goal.

In Saturday’s evening game, Bourke Cazabon’s second goal of the night was the overtime winner as North Bay picked up a 4-3 win over the Jr. Greyhounds.

Nathaniel Lalonde and Carter Rickertson also scored for North Bay.

Forsyth, Connor Toms, and Stephen Pszeniczny scored for the Jr. Greyhounds.

On Sunday, the Jr. Greyhounds ended the weekend with a 6-2 win over North Bay.

Esposito had a goal and three assists for the Jr. Greyhounds while Forsyth had a pair of goals.

Toms, Pszeniczny, and Michael Chaffay also scored for the Jr. Greyhounds.

Thompson and Kaedyn Long scored for the Trappers.

The Jr. Greyhounds return to action on Nov. 29 at home in the opening game of a three-game weekend set against the New Liskeard Cubs. Puck drop at the John Rhodes Community Centre is set for 8 p.m.
