****NEWS RELEASE****

Comfortable temperatures and a full racing program entertained the crowd at the Kinross Speedpark this past Friday evening. Many new cars made their first appearance of the season at the Kinross 1/4 mile.

Four Car Dash winners were Pee Wee Fountain in his Factory Stock, George Wilson in his Late Model, Larry Young Jr. in his Pure Stock, and Tony Rankin in his 4 Cylinder.

The first heat of the evening was a great race involving the Factory Stocks. Mark Beaudoin took the checkered flag with Paul Fox second and Dean Eggart third.

It took three green flags for the Late Models to get underway in their first heat. Early spins slowed the pace before Tim Aho and George Wilson ran nose to tail in a very close race. Aho took the win with Wilson second and Nick Guerriero third.

The Pure Stocks were split into two fields for their heat races. Randy Miller got into Nicole Radar bringing out the only yellow flag of the heat. Jerry Deason dove inside of Tim Wilson in turn three to take the lead and the win. Mike Babcock finished third.

The second Pure Stock heat had some close racing with not a lot of passing. John Clawson ran out front the entire race to take the win. Barry Glenn finished second and Dan Shumbarger third.

Jake Irwin and Chris Brady started near the back in the 4 Cylinder Australian Pursuit and eliminated every car in front of them. Irwin made several attempts to pass Brady but could not get by him. Brady won the race by half a car length in a very close race.

Mike Fox was a crowd pleaser in the second Factory Stock heat race. His car climbed the front stretch wall near the end of the race skidding along the top of the cement barrier. He kept the car on all four wheels as he slid across the horse track. Mark Beaudoin ran another strong race to take the victory. Paul Fox finished second with Cecil Piche third.

Tim Aho and George Wilson again ran door to door in the second Late Model heat. Both cars were very competitive with Wilson taking the win in this heat. Aho finished second and Nick Guerriero third.

Tim Wilson jumped out front early and never looked back in his second Pure Stock heat. Back in the pack, Randy Miller was all over the back bumper of Nicole Radar. Radar dropped inside of Miller in turns three and four and banged into him nearly running him into the front stretch barrier. One turn later Miller had the Radar car spinning in turn two with both drivers getting a lecture from the flag man on the front stretch. Tim Wilson finished the race in first with Miller second and Mike Babcock third.

Lots of three wide racing took place in the next Pure Stock heat. John Clawson stayed ahead for the entire race winning for a second time over the second place car of Barry Glenn. Jim Dubois Jr. finished third.

Chris Brady started at the back in the first 4 Cylinder heat race and moved through the field to take the victory. Ashley Pietrangelo finished second and Joshua Johnson third.

Brandy Clawson stayed ahead of lots of tight racing to take the win in the other 4 Cylinder heat race. Tony Rankin finished second and Larry Miller third.

A five wide first turn with the 4 Cylinders made for an exciting start to the evenings feature races. Cars banged off of each other throughout the field with Tony Rankin getting knocked into the infield on the front stretch. He exited his car to survey the damage only to be DQ’d for this rule violation. Larry Miller, Eric Fountain, and Jake Irwin were battling for the top three spots as Don Dangler Jr. moved closer to this pack. Dangler took the high line and got along Fountain to challenge for the lead. Lap traffic played a role in the finish with Fountain losing a little momentum as he worked his way around slower cars. Dangler took the win with Fountain second and Jake Irwin third.

A total of five cars went off turn three to start the Pure Stock feature. There was very close racing with Tim Wilson leading the field early. A big spin involving several cars moved Barry Glenn to the tail end of the field. John Clawson made a great move to take the lead on the restart and pulled away with the victory. Jerry Deason finished second and Jim Dubois third.

Tim Aho and George Wilson continued their great battle in the Late Model feature. They swapped the lead early in the race with Wilson eventually moving out front and roaring to the checkered flag. Aho finished a few car lengths back in second with Josh Ware third.

Paul Fox made several great attempts to take the lead from Mark Beaudoin in the Factory Stock feature. While they were battling, Todd Jackson was moving through the field at a torrid pace. He caught the lead cars and had the lead in one lap. Jackson checked out on the field to take the win. Cecil Piche finished second and Mark Beaudoin third.
