Knights finish with 5-0 record

The St. Mary's Knights ran the table against the rest of the High School Football League's senior division. On Friday night at Rocky DiPietro Field, the Knights capped their regular season with a 61-0 win over the Korah Colts to finish at 5-0.

On Friday night at Rocky DiPietro Field, the Knights capped their regular season with a 61-0 win over the Korah Colts to finish at 5-0.

The Colts finish the season winless at 0-5.

The Knights scored early and often building to a 40-0 lead at the half.

Jeff Greco ran for three touchdowns on runs of 15, 46 and seven yards. Jason Amadio scored on runs of three and seven yards, quarterback John Mullin ran for a 20 yard major and threw touchdown passes of 43 yards to Ricky Lamon and 20 yards to Michael Martens.

Lamon, who booted an 18 yard field goal, added five converts and Mark DeVuono a two point conversion while the Knights defense recorded a safety.

Mullin completed 12 of 17 passes for 329 yards. Martens caught four passes for 139 yards, Lamon four for 98 yards and DeVuono three for 60 yards. Greco led all rushers with 147 yards on 11 carries.

Defensively, Jordan Verdone led with 7.5 tackles while Amadio and Mike Blackstock made 4.5 each. Steve Piazza and Kerry Goodall recovered fumbles.

For the Colts, Nick Pozzebon rushed for 43 yards on 10 carries while Jordan Murtonen caught three passes from quarterback Kyle Diotte for 40 yards.

Luke Critchley led the defense with six tackles while Jeff McAllister added five and Murtonen four.
