Lee, Turgeon have strong showing at provincial swim championships

SSMAC'S LEE AND TURGEON GIVE STELLAR PERFORMANCES AT SWIM MEET

Brian Lee, 13, competing at the Long Course Provincial Championships in Ottawa, returned this week with notable results. Lee placed fifth in the 400-metre freestyle event with a time of 4:42:91. This finish provides Lee with a second National time. Lee also had a top-eight finish in the 100-metre backstoke.

Julia Turgeon, 12, had two top-eight finishes (200-metre backstroke and 200-metre individual medley) and had multiple best time swims, gaining provincial qualifying times in all of her races.

This meet wraps up the Sault Ste. Marie Aquatic Club's very successful season. Swimming begins again in the fall. For information call 941-9880.
