Mangone, Moore help Spirit to Memorial Cup title

Both players made significant contributions for the Spirit this season as the team won its first Memorial Cup title

The Saginaw Spirit captured the Memorial Cup on Sunday night on home ice thanks to a 4-3 victory over the London Knights at the Dow Event Center.

Josh Bloom had the game winner for the Spirit with 21.7 seconds to go in regulation time to give the Spirit its first Memorial Cup title in franchise history.

Calem Mangone of Sault Ste. Marie and Garden River's Lincoln Moore each played integral roles in the tournament title for the Spirit.

Moore had a goal and a pair of assists in Saginaw's 7-1 semifinal win on Friday night against the Moose Jaw Warriors to help the Spirit advance to the final.

Mangone added an assist in five tournament games for the Spirit.
