In the first game for both teams, Sir James Dunn accumulated 409 yards in total offense and used a stifling defense to beat the Braves 36-0 in high school football senior division action at Rocky DiPietro on Saturday afternoon.

Eagles running back Kofi Osei set the tone on the game's first offensive play with a 99 yard run. Nigel Mine scored his first touchdown on a four-yard run a few plays later to give the Eagles an early 7-0 lead.

Milne put SJD ahead 21-0 at the half with a pair of touchdowns runs from two and four yards out. Frank Weise kicked all three converts.

In the second half, Weise kicked a 22-yard field goal before Osei scored on a 16-yard touchdown run on the last play of the third quarter. Anthony Orazietti completed the scoring with a 40 yard fourth quarter touchdown run.

Osei led the Sir James Dunn offense with 127 yards rushing on 5 carries. Milne added 91 yards on 16 carries while Orazietti scampered for 62 yards on four carries. Quarterback Dan Kennedy completed three of seven passes for 90 yards while Weise completed two of four passes for 21 yards.

Craig Johnson had a huge game for the Eagles in all areas. Johnson caught two passes for 81 yards, returned three punts for 66 yards while making three interceptions and 2.5 tackles on defense. Johnson also gained 92 yards on the interception returns.

Joe Oldham led the Bawating rushers with 28 yards on four carries while quarterback Andrew Hatten completed six of 17 passes for 45 yards. Drew Craig led the Bawating defense with 7.5 tackles while Jon Pinder added six tackles. Oldham made two tackles and 1.5 sacks.

* JUNIOR: J.J. Bergamin and Lucas Walker scored two touchdowns each to pace Sir James Dunn past Bawating 27-13. Bawating scorers were unavailable.

* PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: The first two players were honoured as the Sault Sabercats and Sault Steelers are sponsoring a player of the week award on both offense and defense in the senior division.

St. Mary's Kayvon Fatemazadeh won the offensive award for his 186 yards rushing and 20 yards receiving in Friday's 8-7 St. Mary's win over Korah. Korah's Adam Day was selected on defense for his 9.5 tackle effort.

* WEEK AHEAD: Week two action in the senior division begins on Thursday as White Pines hosts St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, St. Basil meets Bawating at 7:30 p.m. while Korah battles Sir James Dunn on Saturday at 1 p.m. All games are played at Rocky DiPietro Field.
