****NEWS RELEASE***

The Sports Gold Mosquito Black Sox finished their season with 2 wins over Sudbury. The Sox travelled to Sudbury on Sunday and played 2 games defeating Sudbury 14-1 in the first game and 22-1 in the second half of the double-header.

In game one Eric Thornton, Coty Anderson, Coty Yardanoff and Aaron Savage combined for 17 strikeouts over 6 innings. Erik Paradis went 2-4 with 4 RBI's, while Thornton and Yardanoff both went 2-3 and each scored 3 runs to add to the offence.

In the second game Yardanoff, Thornton, Connor Lohan and Travis Quevillon combined for 11 strikeouts over 5 innings. Matt Goodall led the offence going 4-4 and scored 3 runs. Jarret Miller had 2 hits in 3 at bats while Justin Orr went 2-3 and scored 3 runs. Anderson, Yardanoff, and Paradis all scored 3 runs each.

The Soo team would like to thank the Sudbury team for their outstanding hospitality and wish them good luck in the upcoming Ontario Championships. Due to an unfortunate administrative situation the Sports Gold Mosquito Sox will not be participating in the championship but have had a very successful year with a 34 win, 2 loss and 1 tie season. The coaching staff of Rod Goodall, Jim Yardanoff, Rob Miller and Danny Quevillon deserve much of the credit for the year's success.
