The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League will have a new leader as the 2007-08 season opens up.
Former Espanola Screaming Eagles General Manager Mark Seidel is the new commissioner of the NOJHL. Over his young hockey career, Seidel has also served as an assistant general manager with the Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters. He has also served as chief scout for the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack and as a regional scout for the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
Seidel inherits a league that is down to six teams as the Soo (Mich) Indians have taken a one-year leave of absence as team owner Charles Perdicaro looks for a new buyer for the team.
