North Stars Beat Valley East

The Soo North Stars got big offensive performances from Michael D'Agostini, Paul DuPont and Adam Kauppi on Friday night en route to an 8-1 victory over the Valley East Cobras in Great North Midget League action.

The win improves the North Stars record to a still perfect 8-0; good for top spot in the Northern Midget loop.

Kauppi, with 2 goals and an assist; D'Agostini, with a goal and 2 assists; and Dupont, with a goal and 2 assists paced the North Stars offence. Defenceman Tyler Lannigan also had a strong game offensively with a goal and an assist. Matt D'Agostini, Kyle Rodgers and Tyler Gendron also scored for the North Stars.

Goaltender Michael Maulucci got the win in goal for the North Stars. Michael D'Agostini leads the North Stars in scoring with 5 goals and 16 points in 8 games while Matt D'Agostini is not far behind with 8 goals and 14 points in 8 games.

Maulucci, who is having a strong season with the North Stars is tops among all GNML goaltenders with a 2.09 goals against average in 6 games.

The North Stars with cap off their road trip tonight against Valley East before returning home and facing the Timmins Majors on October 18 and 19.
