In their regular season opener in Kapuskasing on Saturday night, Anthony Colizza scored 2:40 into overtime to lift the North Stars to a 5-4 win over the hometown Flyers.

Trailing 4-2 after the second period, the North Stars rallied in the third as Mike Rivard scored before Drew McMillen tied the game with 2:02 remaining in regulation time.

Jarrett Burton and Matt Amadio also scored for the North Stars. McMillen added three assists for a four point effort while Colizza and Amadio set up one goal each for two point nights. Thomas Gravelines recorded the win in goal.

The teams meet again on Sunday at 1 p.m.
