The Soo North Stars continued their winning ways over the weekend with another two-game sweep on the road.

The locals opened the Great North Midget League road trip on Friday with a 4-3 win in Valley East before stopping Rayside Balfour 4-2 in Chelmsford on Saturday afternoon.

In Valley East, Nick Minardi broke a 3-3 tie in the third period with a goal to lift the North Stars to the win.

Tyler Gendron scored two goals for the Soo while Paul Dupont added a goal and an assist. Ryan Dube recorded the win in goal.

On Saturday, Gendron again paced the offense with two goals and an assist while Dupont added a goal and two assists. Michael Quesnele recorded two assists while Travis O'Brien scored the win in goal.

The victories improve the club's GNML first place record to 12-1-1-1 for 26 points.

The North Stars return to action next Saturday night in Sudbury at 7:30 p.m.
