The Soo North Stars demolished the New Liskeard Cubs 10-0 on Sunday afternoon to complete the weekend sweep and improve their overall record to 8-0.

In Great North Midget League action at the John Rhodes Community Centre, the North Stars outshot the Cubs 52-17 and scored four goals in each of the first and third periods.

Justin Hogsden recorded the shutout.

Jerry Petingalo, Mike Rivard and Anthony Colizza scored two goals each while singles went to Brett Thompson, affiliate player David McCaig, Matt Amadio and Kevin Mills.

Mills and Bronson Kovacs assisted three times in the game while McCaig, Kevin Smith and Luke O'Brien set up two goals each. Thompson, Petingalo and Amadio each picked up an assist.

The North Stars are back in action on the road next weekend when they take on Valley East on Saturday and Rayside Balfour on Sunday.

Next home action is October 21 and 22 when the Stars play a pair of games against the Timmins Majors. Both games are at the Rhodes starting at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
