The Soo North Stars continue to soar after winning a pair of games on the road this weekend. The North Stars remain unbeaten at 7-0 in the Great North Midget League and share top spot with the Timmins Major Midgets, who have played two more games than the locals, with 14 points. After opening the road trip on Saturday night with a 6-3 win over the Kirkland Lake Legion 87's, the North Stars followed with a 4-2 win over the New Liskeard Cubs on Sunday afternoon. Matt D'Agostini, Lucas Goodall, Michael Sharp and Kyle Rodgers scored in the win on Sunday over New Liskeard. D'Agostini continues to lead the team in scoring with seven goals and six assist for 13 points. Goaltender Michael Maulucci leads the league in goals against average with a 2.32 average in five games. The North Stars are on the road again next weekend with games in Valley East against the Cobras on Friday and Saturday. The locals return home for a pair of games against Timmins on October 18 and 19.
