The cities of Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury are set to renew their hockey rivalries.
On Friday night at the Soo Pee Wee Arena, professional players from the Sault and Sudbury will face off in the first of a two game series which could possibly become an annual charity event.
The first annual Northern Pro-Hockey Challenge will kick off Friday night at 7 p.m. while game two of the series will take place in Sudbury on August 15 at Tom Davies Arena in Walden.
The idea, which has been in the works for some time, was set up by former Greyhound, and current Greyhound assistant coach, Denny Lambert and will feature pro players from both cities who have spent time all over the world playing at the professional level.
Tickets for the game are $10 for adults and $7 for children with proceeds from the game going towards the Canadian Cancer Society.
