It will take the final two round robin games to determine who will play for the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) AA Hockey Championship.

On Tuesday night at the John Rhodes Community Centre, the Confederation Chargers improved to 2-0 after knocking off Mattawa's F.J. McElliogott Voyageurs 5-1.

In the second game and a rematch of the local city championship series, the Korah Colts beat the White Pines Wolverines 5-3.

Both Sault teams are tied at 1-1 while the Voyageurs fell to 0-2. One round robin game remains for each team.

On Wednesday at Memorial Gardens, McElliott meets Korah at 9 a.m. followed by White Pines and Confederation at 11 a.m.

The top two teams will then meet for the championship at 7 p.m.

Rob Calvert scored two goals to lead the Colts past White Pines while Daniel Ferris, Jimmy Killoran and Riley King added singles. Anthony Silvano, Chris Spring and Tommy Sywstun replied for the Wolverines.

Cody Tourigny and Lucas McAlpine scored two goals each to pace Confederation while Storm Edwards added the other. Jesse Moore answered for the Voyageurs.

The eventual NOSSA champion will advance to the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association (OFSAA) championships March 22-25 in Timmins.
