This summer Ontario Cup Soccer action has been prominent in Sault Ste. Marie.

Nearly every weekend sees action in the tournament and this weekend was no different as the Under-17 Girls and Under-18 Boys Divisions both saw action.

In the Under-17 Girls Division, Sault Tenaris opened the tournament on Saturday with a 0-0 tie against the Oshawa Kicks. Later in the day Tenaris dropped a 4-1 decision to the Sudbury Canadians.

Also on day one, Sudbury opened their schedule with a 4-0 win over London United Heat. London proceeded to cap off the day with a convincing 7-1 win over Oshawa.

On Sunday London knocked off Sault Tenaris in one of two games played on the day. In the other game Sudbury ran their record to a perfect 3-0 with an 8-1 win over Oshawa to take the tournament crown.

The Under-18 Boys Division the Sault Civics managed two ties but could not come away with a tournament title as the Brampton Rangers gave up just two goals in three games to win the tournament with a 3-0 record.

Saturday opened with the Mississauga Falcons beat London United Heat 2-0 while Brampton knocked off the locals 8-1. The final two games of the day saw Brampton beat London 3-1 and the Sault and Mississauga battle to a 3-3 draw.

Sunday saw the locals tie London 1-1, while Brampton shut out Mississauga 3-0 to clinch the tournament.

Next weekend will see more Ontario Cup action locally as the Under-12 and Under-13 Girls Divisions will wrap up the Sault portion of the Ontario Cup schedule.
