Life goes on in the Ontario Varsity Football League as the playoffs have officially gotten underway with four games played on Saturday.
In the early game in Etobicoke, the Etobicoke Eagles secured a narrow five-point win over the Mississauga Warriors while the Toronto Thunder ran away with a 56-15 victory over the Huronia Stallions in Barrie.
The other Conference Semi-final games saw the Guelph Bears defeat the Essex Ravens 37-24 in Essex, while the London Falcons dropped a 29-21 decision at the hands of the Niagara Spears in Niagara.
The conference finalists are now set and the conference finals will be played next Saturday. Etobicoke will take on Toronto in one game while Niagara and Essex will battle in the other. The OVFL Championship is set for the following weekend.
The local entry in the OVFL, the Sault Sabercats, finished the OVFL regular season with a 4-4 record, missing the playoffs.
