The SSMGC Power Tumbling team just returned from Oakville, where 5 SSMGC tumblers competed at the Ontario Provincial Championships on the weekend.

All 5 tumblers finished in the top 10, which is an outstanding result when competing against tumblers from all over Ontario. Teammates Jonathan Mitchell, Chantal Cinq-Mars, Reilly Turbide, Kaylee Raynor, and Jaden Cerasuolo were accompanied with team coaches Jamie Greenwood and Holly Mousseau.

Jonathan Mitchell and Chantal Cinq-Mars competed on Day 1 of the Tumbling Championships. Jonathan is SSMGC's only National level tumbler. He competed in the Novice National 15+ category. Jonathan competes 3 tumbling passes and finished 2nd on all 3 passes, which resulted in a silver medal performance. This was a great result for Jonathan, especially since Jonathan moved up 3 categories since last year as well as it being his first year as a National level tumbler.

Teammate Chantal competed in the Provincial 3 Jr Girls category, where she only competes 2 tumbling passes. Chantal finished 6th on her first tumbling pass and 7th on her second tumbling pass, which resulted in a strong 6th place finish in the overall standings.

Reilly Turbide, Kaylee Raynor and Jaden Cerasuolo all competed on Day 2. Reilly and Kaylee both competed in the Provincial 2 Jr Girls category. Reilly finished 10th on her first tumbling pass, while improving to a 8th place result on her second pass. Her consistency resulted in a 9th place finish in her category.

Teammate Kaylee placed 13th on her first tumbling pass, and like Reilly, Kaylee finished with a better result on her second tumbling pass placing her 9th for her efforts. As a result, Kaylee finished right behind her teammate with a respectful 10th place finish in the overall standings.

Jaden Cerasuolo competed in the Provincial 1 Jr Girls category, where she topped off the year with a bang. Jaden, who competes 2 tumbling passes, finished 1st on both tumbling passes, which lead her to the gold medal and the title of Provincial Champion in the Provincial 1 Jr Girls category. As a result, she was awarded a free day at Canada's Wonderland with all the other Champions from the other categories as they celebrate Champions Day. Way to go Jaden.

SSMGC tumblers Bradley Nakamura, Kaylee Raynor, Jaden Cerasuolo and coach Holly Mousseau are now heading to Senaca College this week for Eastern Canadian Championships where they will be competing for Team Ontario. This will be Bradley's 2nd trip to Eastern Canadian Championships, while it'll be a new and fun experience for Kaylee, Jaden and Holly. This will mark the end to a very successful and fun year for the SSMGC power tumbling team.
