GUELPH -- The Sault Sabercats have become the Ontario Varsity Football League's comeback kids.

For the third consecutive contest, the Sabercats rallied late in the game to pull away with 32-22 win over the Guelph Bears here at Alumni Stadium on the University of Guelph campus on Saturday afternoon.

The win moves the club a step closer to qualifying for the OVFL playoffs for the first time in the team's three year history. The victory also increases the Sabercats chances of hosting a playoff contest.

After dropping their first two games of the season, the Sabercats have now won four straight games to sit at 4-2 and in a four-way tie for second place in the Adam Division with eight points although the Essex Ravens, who are involved in the tie, will play on Sunday night.

The Sabercats benefited from key performances from several players.

Quarterback Ryan Maunu threw for 301 yards passing, Kayvon Fatemizadeh ran for 93 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns while slotback Matt Premo hauled in seven passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.

The Sault Steelers struggles continued on Saturday night with a 17-2 loss in Oshawa on Saturday night. The Steelers fall to 2-4 and sit two points out of a playoff spot in the Northern Football Conference.
