*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

James Tusingwire

Sault College's Cougar Profile of the week stands at 6 feet 1 inch, and is an exceptional athlete on the men's basketball team. A native of Toronto Ontario, and a recent graduate of Jarvis Collegiate, James Tusingwire is the athlete of the week.

Tusingwire received the most improved player award at his high school before becoming a welcoming addition to the Cougar squad. James is a rookie on paper but plays much like a seasoned veteran with his speed and agility on the court.

Although a quiet individual off the floor, his aggressive play on the floor makes him a difficult player to contend with.

"James is a lot of fun to coach. He doesn't stop working and is a great team player," adds head coach Thomas Cory. " He's a blue collar type player who can go inside or shoot the ball."

Tusingwire will be joining his teammates on the road this weekend for the CAN/AM games, where Alpena will host the Cougars, local rival Thunderbirds, and Kirtland in tournament play. You can catch James and the men's basketball team in the New Year, when the Cougars host Cambrian College in exhibition play, January 7th at 6pm.

*** COUGARS SEMESTER WRAP UP;

Six wins and only one loss is the record that the Sault College Men's Basketball team currently holds.

With the men's final semester game and win against Algoma University on Friday, the men can relax a little, but must still endure one more weekend competition.

Friday and Saturday December 3rd and 4th , the Cougars head to the Annual CAN/AM Tournament held in Alpena, Michigan. Among the Cougars will be Sault rival Algoma Thunderbirds, Kirtland College, and host Alpena College.

Meanwhile, the Lady Cougars will be at home for a double-header weekend, where they will host the Fanshawe Falcons for two back-to-back league games. The games will take place Friday December 3rd at 8 p.m., and Saturday December 4th at 1 p.m. The Women's Volleyball team currently holds a record of 1-5.

After the weekend's events, Sault College varsity athletes will take a well-deserved break for Christmas, then resume play after the New Year. Cambrian College will travel to the Sault Friday Jan 7th for exhibition play, with women's volleyball at 3 p.m. and men's basketball at 6 p.m.
