*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

Kari-Lyn Chamberlain

Sault College's choice for feature athlete of the week is a member of the women's volleyball team. Kari-Lyn Chamberlain is the Cougar profile of the week.

Kari-Lyn is currently in her second season with Lady Cougars, with a few more promising years ahead of her. She has currently switched programs and is enrolled in her first year as a full-time Bachelor of Science Nursing student.

Kari-Lyn is a native of North Bay where she attended Chippewa Secondary School, where she received many awards that included the NDA All-star Award.

She was also the recipient of two Sault College awards during her rookie debut last spring, including Rookie of the Year, and an Academic Achievement Award for maintaining an outstanding academic average, while participating in a varsity sport.

Chamberlain, though standing at a 5-foot-5, demonstrates the outstanding athletic ability, and strength from the right side. Kari-Lyn is dedicated to her team, and maintains a positive and determined attitude.

"As our floor captain, Kari Lyn brings a very positive work ethic to the team. Her lighthearted wit helps to keep things from getting too stressful," adds head coach Jeremy Murdoch. " She is always willing to give 100% when she steps out on the court, brining solid defence and creative offence to the team."

Kari-Lyn was in her hometown of North Bay on January 13th-15th where she participated in two league games, followed by the All-Star Games on Saturday, where she presented her talents amongst all OCAA players in both the West and East divisions.

You can catch the ladies back home the weekend of the 28th and 29th when the ladies host Humber Friday at 8 p.m. and St. Clair, Saturday at 12 p.m.
