COUGARS GEAR UP FOR SECOND HALF

Sporting a 5-2 record and a share of the lead in the OCAA west region, the Sault College Men's basketball team will be looking to turn it up a notch as they enter the second half of play to make another run at a Provincial berth.

The Cougars are set to head down the home stretch with five of their last seven league games in the Sault and Coach Cory is ready to welcome some key players to the roster.

The second semester additions of Dionte Dunning, James Tusingwire, Kevoughn Alleyne, and Guy Recollect ( Lambton College Graduate) will provide the Cougars with some much needed depth.

The Cougars begin the second half of the season with a pair of home games, first hosting the Mohawk Mountaineers in league action on Friday January 13th @ 8 p.m. and the following night hosting Gogebic College in an exhibition game set to tip off at 7 p.m.

Nicole Beauchamp and Kari-Lyn Chamberlain will be representing Sault College at the Women's Volleyball All-Star game at Seneca on January 14th.

The Lady Cougars will have another two weeks to prepare before they open the second half of the season with a home game on Tuesday January 24th against the Canadore Panthers. Start time for the match is 6:00 p.m.

The women are looking to improve on their current record of 1-8 and finish strong in the second half.

The Sault College Athletic Department would like to thank Tom Mauro for all his hard work and dedication to the athletic program over the last 15 years. Tom will be leaving Sault College effective January 13, 2006 to pursue a new position at Algoma University.

Tom's involvement in athletics and student life will be truly missed, we wish him all the best in his new position with Algoma University.
