The Sault College Cougars men’s hockey team improved to 6-0 in American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) action with a pair of road wins over the weekend.
Facing the Adrian Bulldogs, the Cougars opened the weekend with a 6-4 win on Saturday night before capping off the sweep with a 6-1 win on Sunday afternoon.
In Saturday’s contest, Sault College took a 2-0 lead before the game was five minutes old only to see the Bulldogs score three quick goals to take the lead before Mark Tassone tied the game for Sault College late in the frame.
After the teams traded goals in the second period, goals by Noah Serre and Ryan Vendramin lifted Sault College to the win.
Serre and Vendramin finished Saturday’s game with two goals and an assist each while Tassone also had three points with a goal and two assists.
Max Khull had the other Sault College goal in Saturday’s win.
On Sunday, Austin Rowe set up four goals while Mitchell Devins-Cann had a pair of goals for Sault College.
Khull had a goal and an assist for the Cougars.
Vendramin, Ryan Lawrence, and Bryceton Lalonde also scored for Sault College. Tanner Mayne assisted on a pair of goals.
Next action for Sault College is Oct. 12 on the road against Marian College.
